Give me a Museum & I’ll fill it
ITZIAR TELLETXEA ROCHA
Instituto Cervantes Dublin
Lincoln House, Lincoln Pl, Dublin 2
1st - 30th June, 2016
Itziar Telletxea’s exhibition includes a series of works produced in Valencia and Dublin. Instituto Cervantes Dublin presents a selection of her photographic collections. The compilation entitled “Pintxo Food” mixes photography and cuisine and portrays appetising Basque pintxos (small servings of traditional food). The images work as simple visual recipes, eliminating the need for written instructions.
Telletxea’s ongoing “Obsession Portraits” series is inspired by Kafka’s famous quote “follow your most intense obsessions mercilessly”. In “Personal WorkSpaces” portraits of the Pepe March Workshop in Valencia are shown as part of the personal universes in the city. The exhibition will also include some pieces from her “Creatives & WorkSpaces” Dublin.
The exhibition is entitled “Give me a Museum and I’ll fill it”, which is a quote by Pablo Picasso and makes reference to the versatile and creative use of empty spaces. The works also include illustrations, such as those found in Telletxea’s children’s book and illustration project “Music Types”, together with her award winning animation piece from the “Humans FEST” in Valencia.
Itziar Telletxea Rocha’s background is in graphic design and her passion lies in photography and visual documentation. Her works deal with subjects such as music, portraits, architecture, interior design, product photography, food and fashion. Simplicity is her best asset in expressing what she is passionate about.
